What is the hospital size and patient demographics?
Redmond Regional Medical Center is a 230 bed facility, serving as a regional referral source for all of northwest Georgia and parts of Alabama. Redmond offers a full array of inpatient and outpatient programs, many of which are unique to the northwest Georgia region. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, Redmond provides a full service cardiology product line and is nationally recognized as a top cardiac care center.

What is unique about the transitional year program at Redmond?
The transitional year residency at Redmond emphasizes a diverse opportunity for experience in multiple specialty and sub-specialty rotations and a very complete grounding in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. TY Residents have an immersive experience in the Redmond Simulation Center learning critical bedside procedures and ultrasound skills in carefully monitored and mentored conditions with very experienced instructors. We place an emphasis on a collegial residency atmosphere and appreciate the input and participation of TY Residents in providing constructive criticism as we continue the organic process of building the best possible Transitional year experience. Our Graduate Medical Education Program gives you the resources and ability to participate in multiple research opportunities with unique levels of support in study design, data acquisition and analysis, and medical editing all with our dedicated Research Director.

What is the size of the program?
The Redmond Medical center Transitional Year Residency Program will have 13 residents per academic year.

Does your program have specific requirements regarding medical school graduation date?
Applicants must not be more than two years from their medical school graduation dates.

Does your program have an application deadline?
Applications must be received by November 15th. Due to the high volume of applications we receive and the limited number of interview slots available we highly recommend that you submit your ERAS application as soon as possible.
