To avoid fragmentation in the educational experience, Redmond’s Internal Medicine Residency Program has adopted what many programs have done over the recent past: an “X+Y” model. The most logical sequence for the number of residents and rotations in our system is a 4+1 schedule. How does that work?

Night Medicine: 2-3 Weeks
ICU: 5 Weeks

Procedure & Simulation: 1 Week

Ambulatory/Continuity Week: 10 Weeks
Elective: 4 weeks
